I was staying in Chennai, nearly the Earth revolved around the Sun five times. Hence, I deserve 'green card' from the Tamilnadu Govt. Though I have moved from 'hot' Chennai to 'cool' Bangalore, I am missing the days I have spent there.
The days were 'darker' really,in the environment point of view.As the 'Temple Town' is on the East cost of India, the sun was waking up earlier there. The morning session was really cool. But, as the 'time machine' runs ahead, the sun start to vomit fire.Nobody can dare to walk in the sun-rays (sun-arrows). You can feel a layer of sweat on your body whole day, even in the night; as the Earth starts to radiate heat at that time.
The evening breeze was giving soothing effect. You can feel the value of it at that time, followed by scorching afternoon. The mind goes happy while roaming at that time to the temples of Anjaneya,Vithhal,Aadinath;Karuneegar street, GIE road,St.Thomas mount. Most memories are of with heavy studies, cooking experiments, great laughters, silly fightings, beach roamings, cricket,Ganesh Festival(Ganesh-pooja,drama, singing, dancing, unity)with our group AVIATORS, and all Marathi,non-Marathi friends.
The people living there are spiritual, lovers of their traditions and language. They use to wear loongis and silk sarees. They are crazy about movies,Bharatnatyam dance, classical music.
Your taste-buds can feel the mouth-watering tastes of South-Indian dishes. There are oodles of varieties of idli, dosa, vada, rice, sambar and rassam. The tradition to serve the food on banana-leaf feels touchy. Butter milk, curd, juices, cold drinks are additional, but like compulsory due to the weather. You can get bananas to eat after dinner even in small shops also. The tea, coffee also have different touch there.
Best teachers, bester owners, and bestest friends, from whom I have learned a lot on the soil.
Hence, the Nostalgia.
THANK YOU AND MISS YOU CHENNAI A LOT!!
